Why the Gov is so afraid of Hobby Drones

This video has over 30 million hits....when it came out in 2012, I knew it was fake, but 4 years later, this could easily be done... Propaganda like this causes panic for sure. Problem is, we can post all kinds of videos and information about how we are all responsible rc model aircraft operators, and we are not part of the "drone" problem, but how would we get people to watch them? A video titled "Safe Model Aircraft Operation" would not likely get too many hits....

All we need is a system of restricted and non restricted ( perhaps not the best of words). Require MAAC for the one and require a special license and MAAC for the other. Then everyone can enjoy themselves.
And for the crybabies that say that's not fair to have to join MAAC they can simply open or join a fully insured club and fly under approved regulations.

We had a very concious vote to ban FPV from one of our clubs here. Did so exactly because we looked into the future and wanted it to be very clear that we recognize the fact we are close to a military base. You don't cross some lines in life even if they have not been officially established.
This was a few years ago, not now but rather when FPV accelerated in popularity.

The problem is that many of the drone operators are not in the RC airplane/heli hobby as we know it. Many do not belong to a club, they did not go through a wings program, they do not have MAAC and they are not aware (or don't care) of the safety protocol and etiquette when flying RC. That is why it bothers me when they are linked to our hobby and to the guys that try to do it right.

+1...60 years of RC flying in this country with no problems, and now all of a sudden we have serious issues, not hard to figure out why.
