    Re: GP 123 Quality

Brad, I'm not going to go through a spiel about engine brands or their issues.....however I have had 3 brand new GP 123 engines shipped to me. Everyone has had a problem that has made it un-runable out of the box. Perhaps the insult is on me.

    Re: GP 123 Quality

That really sucks guys. I'm sure Lorne will straighten this out.

I'll say it again... whether it be GP or DA or EME or any other motor mfg that does not run their motors before shipping they are flirting with embarrassment at some point.

Why do some MFG's not see the massive value in running their engines and providing that little run-sheet like i've seen on Moki, Valach, 3W and some of the recent ZDZ's???

I've had 2 lemon motors in my life.. a Mintor60 and DA35. Could have been avoided with a simple run at the factory

Yep.. I've said it 100+ times. It's such a simple thing and would avoid so much embarrassment. Silly, silly not to do.

Poor Lorne and the dealers are left picking up the pieces.

I have all the respect in the world of what Lorne and the dealers do for us all.

Good news is that GP and ProRc service is second to none, but 100% avoidable prior to shipping to the dealers

There is one thing for sure about a GP engines. Lorne will make it right no matter what. IMHO Lorne has done more for the GP engines than any other dealer or the manufacture for customer service. I will have fun with this issue at the Trout Farm during my next outing.

Not to get into a pissing match Brad. I did give Lorne a heads up before i posted.

I dont see it being a insult to the dealer, manufacture well maybe. Then just maybe he'll pay more attention to QC.

I'm sure i read some where on here, some one pulled a GP 61 apart and saw a DA stamp in connecting rod. Or maybe that was some body stirring shit up.

    Hence the remark to DA

Don't matter what engine i bought, if there was a fault to it i would have called it bottom shelf QC. (DA, EME, 3W, Mintor and so on)

I know Lorne is a stand up guy, he represents our hobby well.

Like i said before it was more about stirring shit up and having some fun with it. F.ck it's Christmas relax. LOL

I have said this before on these forums and some have scoffed at it. It is imperative that the manufacturer run before being shipped.

As for Lorne, yes I truly feel sorry for Lorne as his service is second to none and this wasn't meant to insult him nor his business.

As for GP Engines, he builds a great engine but lacks the follow through that's so important....I do hope this insults him, as I see no reason to cut him any slack.

Hope I can get this resolved as I'd really like to start one of these Monster GP's on my own plane!!
