Had an interesting night with the Jeti. Currently learning the functionality as I set up a jet. Here are a couple neat things I'm playing with!!. So far I haven't been able to do this on my 18MZ or Sandro's 28x.
1) Canopy cannot open (or automatically closes) above a certain speed - prevents ever hitting the canopy switch in the air and loosing it or the whole plane
2) Mixing of GPS speed into gyro gain - does what the iGyro GPS can do - turn up your gain as you slow down for even more stability
3) Audible tones to indicate the proper landing speed - mixing of Varo tones to GPS speed (or even better is the pitot tube air speed unit)
4) Failsafe gear lowering and audible alarm if airpressure inside jet drops (ie: air leak)
5) Cannot lower flaps above a certain speed
6) Telemetry metering of mA used out of your receiver batteries (not voltage like Futaba or JR)
7) Setting up your Rx from your Tx wirelessly - no need to pull out the config sheet and push a button to on the Rx while turning power on, etc.
8) Wireless trainer function (no cord to the kids' radio)
9) Telemetry module connection... no need to configure slots and layout, etc... just plug it into the Rx and the Jeti recognizes it and bring in all the functionality.
Is it required? Nope. Nice to have? I feel it is a huge opportunity to potentially save a big investment.
Still love my Futaba 18MZ. Very powerful radio, decent telemetry and love the touch screen but just thought I'd post some initial findings of the Jeti after about a week of playing with it.
