Great project you got there Trevor!, 104 is one of my all time fav classic Jets. Soon I'll be restarting on my 104 also but it will be tiny besides yours at 1:9 scale.

Personally I like Fujibond on engine mating surfaces and in my Macaroni and Cheeze. For items like pressure fittings, I'd probably use JBweld for permanently mounting the fittings and my Grilled Cheeze Sandwiches to provide a bit of crunch. Sticks to your ribs kinds crunch!! LOL

The Hysol worked like a charm.. Just tested it and very happy.

The gear on this is hydraulic.... I just did some mods to it and it is working so nice now. Will post a video tonight!!

    Hydraulic, really, not pneumatic?

It uses air pressure to push a set of hydraulic pistons inside the fuse. The hydraulic pistons feed fluid to the landing gear pistons to raise / lower the gear. Makes for a super smooth and powerful gear retraction system.

Video tonight... Got carried away last night and forgot

That's super cool, yeah I can see how it can be much much smoother.

    Re: Skymaster 1/5 F104 Starfighter / Behotec220

Just uploading the video of the LG operation now.

Had some issues with the stock setup.. the cheap hydraulic fittings and lines were letting a bit of air into the hydraulic system and two of the 4 nipples that screwed into the hydraulic cylinders were leaking also. Fixed it all and now the system works mint with only 85psi of air pressure to activate the hydraulics!!

    Super happy
